At the end of 2023, volunteers of AFRIQUE FUTURE FRANCE (based in Mulhouse, Alsace) organised five festive events to collect funds and raise awareness of our association which has been active in Cameroon for nearly 36 years.

1- CHAMPAGNE SALES

Since 2018, once or twice a year, we have been offering for sale a selection of excellent champagne produced by Maison Christophe SAVOYE, a family business located in the village of La-Neuville-aux-Larris, near Reims. We are granted a small discount on each bottle so as to make a profit and attract buyers before the festive period.

The number of bottles sold increases year after year, so profits have risen from 1,373 euros in 2018 to 3,016 euros in 2023, which corresponds to 1,069 bottles sold!

Our next operation is scheduled for November 2024.

2- ONE-MAN SHOW: “RIEN A FAIRE” (‘Nothing doing!’)

What if there was no show? What if, at the rise of the curtain, the audience was faced with an empty stage? That is how we were challenged by Pol Bouchard, a clown by trade, played by Philippe Rousseaux. The clown is a guide to nothing, a commentator on silence, as if the mere act of being there was enough to lead us into an unusual adventure.

“Rien à faire” is a lyrical, poetic and moving variation on the meaning of existence, based on a story by Fabrice Hadjadj.

1,734 euros were raised for Afrique Future.

3- TROMBONE CONCERT

On Sunday 10 December 2023, TROMBINACOOLOS – a group of four trombonists – gave a benefit concert for AFRIQUE FUTURE. Dominique Roux, Emmanuel Gérard, Florian Jung and Christophe Ledru performed for free at Sainte Geneviève’s church in Mulhouse.

Donations amounted to 1,100 euros for the association.

4- CHRISTMAS ITEMS SALES

For the first time, our ‘in-house artists’ Daniel and Michel made Christmas trees and stars with different fabrics.

The sale of these magnificent items exceeded our expectations and raised 3,325 euros.

5- AFRIQUE FUTURE FRANCE’S ANNUAL LUNCHEON

The festive occasion for members and friends was once again a great success. The 3,858 euros raised will help us continue our support for the people of Cameroon (medical care and education in particular).
