CULTURE DAY FOR EMANA’S STUDENTS (2026)

Back to basics in the 10 regions of Cameroon

The institution of “Back to basics” days by the Cameroon administration aims to promote ancestral colour, traditions and values. The day celebrates intergenerational unity and transmission by acting in a restorative way to prevent forgetting cultural roots.

The event is a fight against the loss of identity and encourages the preservation and development of local customs against external influence.

On 11 February 2026 – Cameroon’s National Youth Day – the children and young of Emana’s Deo Gratias school complex displayed great enthusiasm and creativity in illustrating their own way of going back to basics. After weeks of preparation, they presented their teachers, families and public magnificent vivid scenes, each more realistic than the others.

The cultural wealth of several ethnic groups was highlighted through their costumes, make up, dances and traditional dishes.

It was a beautiful time of sharing and joy in the school, with the proud feeling of participating in a major event.
